Greetings Pilots!

Welcome to the official Tumblr blog for the multi-media worldbuilding project, Frameshift. If you’re new or just visiting, this is where we post art, book updates, answer questions about Frameshift, and other gubbins.

But what is Frameshift? Well…

It’s been almost twenty years since the Free States War ended. The first armed conflict between terrifying, humanoid chassises called FRAMES ended in a stalemate, but with the opportunity for pinpoint, violent, Frame-based warfare to explode at any time between world powers now in the cards, an uneasy calm has blanketed the world of Hellena.

In this tumultuous period, OKSANA “SANA” KELENOV, a refugee of the Free States War adopted by a group of former Frame Pilots, finds herself at a crossroad. From when she said her first words, Sana adamantly wished to become a Pilot in the RAELITHAN FRAME INFANTRY (RFI), like her parents before her. To her, the RFI represents a place where she can finally belong - and being able to work with and Pilot ancient war machines is certainly a plus.

But becoming a Pilot isn’t easy. Compatibility issues, her disabilities both mental and physical, and her unorthodox heritage continue to marr her already slim chances of getting into training. But after a fateful connection with an errant Frame sends Sana’s world into a tailspin, her lifelong dream of finally finding a place to belong singes at the edge of her grasp…

Frameshift is a story about people, Frames, and people who pilot Frames. If you’re into queer Science-Fiction, or enjoy Sci-fi with a strong character focus, you’ll be right at home here.

Speaking of which, the first Volume of Frameshift can be read in it’s entirety on our sister site, Frameshiftworks.wordpress. We’re already working on Volume 2, and we hope to have the first Volume published… eventually. If it sounds interesting, give it a read!

On top of that, if you have any questions about Frameshift, the world, the characters, the story, or anything else, feel free to drop it in the AMA box above! I read all feedback I receive, and I love seeing what sparks most curiosity in people about this project.

That’s all for me for this post. I’m very new to Tumblr (I honestly feel like a grandma using this), but I’m quickly learning it’s mysterious ways, ooooh :P Expect more updates, art posts, and so on and so forth in the coming weeks.

Thanks, and keep on running,
- Izzy

“Well, we were hanging out and then she fell asleep on my shoulder and I don’t wanna wake her up, so. This is my life now.”

Can you believe it’s been nearly 2 years and I’ve NEVER drawn Sana in a proper, gay ass, woman-loving woman suit?

Terrible of me.

Testing the range of Frame limb patterns. After all, why can’t one of my little guys lay down whilst doing his wacky alien piloting shit? He might need a nap.

I’m home! But I’m still not all setup, and won’t be for a while. So! I’m finally getting used to my new(?) tablet.

Good thing I chose these two to draw, they’re always so pretty

maybe i like it when a female character is deeply flawed and responsible for countless deaths and so on and so forth. more female characters should be deeply flawed and responsible for countless deaths

God forbid a woman do anything 🙄
